The history of RentX Tool and Equipment begins with Effingham Builders Supply when the "full service" lumber yard opened in 1939 at the corner of 2nd & National.
Operations moved to 100 E. Evergreen Ave. in December of 1996. This new facility allowed for expansion of products and services. Listening to customer needs led to offering Tool and Equipment Rental in 2003. The Rental department was given a separate identity in 2018 to coincide with its expansion to the Mattoon location.
RentX Tools and Equipment now serves customers from two locations: 1505 Hampton Dr. in Effingham, IL and 1312 Forth Worth Way in Mattoon, IL.
